We take your privacy seriously. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
Our promise, in plain language
We collect the minimum information needed to serve you well, we never sell it, and we tell you exactly what we keep and why. Three things we want you to know up front:
- We don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone outside the small list of tools we use to run this site. No marketing lists. No data brokers.
- You can ask us anything. Email privacy@mupla.org to request a copy of your data, ask questions, correct something we have wrong, or delete what we hold, subject only to the legal record-keeping we describe below.
- This page is current. When we make material changes, we'll update the date at the bottom and notify subscribers by email.
What we collect, and why
The minimum information we need to serve you well, broken down by where it comes from.
Forms you fill out
When you use our contact form, we receive your name, email, and the message you wrote. We keep these in our email and records system so we can respond and follow up. We delete contact messages after 12 months unless they relate to an ongoing matter.
Newsletter signups
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email in our email service. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
Donation records
When you donate, our payment processor (currently Stripe) handles the transaction. We receive your name, email, donation amount, and the fund you designated. We keep donation records for 7 years as required by law.
Privacy-respecting analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages on this site are most useful. We do not track individual visitors across other sites, and we do not sell any data, ever.
What we don't do
Practices we've intentionally avoided, because we wouldn't want them done to us.
No advertising cookies
We don't use advertising cookies. We don't allow third-party tracking on this site. The only cookies this site sets are the ones it needs to function.
We never sell your data
We don't sell, rent, lease, or otherwise commercially exploit any personal information you give us, not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.
No cross-site tracking
We don't track you across other sites, and we don't build advertising profiles. Analytics on this site stay on this site.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies to make this site work:
- Essential cookies for things like remembering your dark/light theme preference.
- Analytics cookies (only with your consent, where required by law) to understand site usage.
We do not use advertising cookies. We do not allow third-party tracking on this site.
Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate this site and our programs. Each has its own privacy practices:
- Email service for newsletters and contact form messages.
- Payment processor (Stripe) for donations.
- Hosting (Vercel) for this website.
- Content management (TinaCMS) for editing this site.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone outside this list.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct any information that is wrong.
- Delete your information (subject to legal record-keeping requirements).
- Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time.
- Ask questions about our privacy practices anytime.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the bottom and, for significant changes, notify subscribers by email.
